Director of Technology and Insights Procurement

Accountabilities:
- Proactively monitor and analyze procurement data to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities before they impact performance, both internal and external.
- Deliver timely, insight-driven dashboards, reports, and recommendations tailored to stakeholder needs.
- Provide business requirements to the Data & Reporting team for both standard and ad-hoc reporting needs.
- Build forecasting capabilities to understand future purchasing demand as well as reconciliation of forecasted and achieved savings.
- Reconciliation of Procurement reported savings with Finance on P&L impact achieved.
- Strong understanding of Purchase Price Variance (PPV) reporting and Procurement impact on COGS.
- Perform strategic analysis and reporting by category, including benchmarking, market trends, supplier spend/savings, and Pareto insights.
- Act as the Business Owner for the Savings Tracker solution, ensuring it meets evolving business needs.
- Liaise with Finance to validate top savings projects and ensure alignment with financial reporting.
- Drive the integration and usage of Market Intelligence in the sourcing process.
- Anticipate and assess the impact of geopolitical and regulatory developments on category performance, pricing, and savings potential.
- Partner with Category Managers to translate insights into strategic actions and measurable outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with AstraZeneca’s procurement policies, particularly in relation to risk, reputation, and data integrity.
- Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement across the procurement function.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Economics, Data Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in procurement analytics, market intelligence, or strategic sourcing.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, and complex formulas, with experience delivering analysis and reports for business stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Python for data exploration, cleaning, and visualization.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and influence in a matrixed, global organization.
- Proven experience in both Indirect and Direct Procurement.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Experience with AI-driven analytics or predictive modeling.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa).
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry procurement practices.
